Research projects are critical because they strongly align with CM’s overall mission and Standards 1, 2, 4, and 13. By acquiring more funding for research projects from various sources with the assistance of participating faculty members, CM has increased its level of engagement with governmental organizations, nongovernmental organizations, and industry, thereby establishing connections and creating internship opportunities and career development opportunities for our students. Table 1.2 shows that over the preceding 5 years, CM faculty members have conducted 353 research projects funded by the government, private enterprises, and the university. Total funding reached US$6,080,433 during this period. Conducting research projects ensures that CM engages in practical research and industry–academia cooperation.
